Ark-Genomics Microarray Data Analysis and Meta-Analysis Courses

ARK-Genomics provides Microarray Data Analysis and Meta-Analysis training courses. Topics covered include microarray experimental design, normalisation; analysis of differential gene expression; analysis of gene pathways etc.

Example Course Outline

Day 1:
  • Microarrays overview, one and two colour systems
  • Normalisation (Global normalisation, LOESS, array QC)
  • Analysis of two sample experiments
  • Analysis of more complex experiment 1 (Multivariate analysis)

Day 2:

  • Analysis of a case study using R and Genstat (Instructor lead; two different case studies Time course and time treatment interactions)
  • Analysis of more complex experiment 2 (ANOVA)
  • Analysis of more complex experiment 3 (Clustering)
  • Analysis of a case study using R (Instructor lead; two different case studies)
  • Microarray experimental design (Direct comparison, reference designs, dye swap, types of replication)

Day 3:
  • Gene annotation and /or ontology
  • Tools for analysis for gene pathways
  • Constructing networks
